One Night In Istanbul

Do you Remember the night? “Hello, Hello, Here we go…it’s Steven Gerrard”, and then came the comeback of all comebacks. A night that no Liverpool fan will ever forget. A night of football which will remain in the hearts of Liverpool fan’s the world over. Simply amazing..

This is one of them nights of football I will always remember. When we have a bad match day, I remember the good times, not the bad…forget losing to fulham, arsenal or tottenham, remember we are Liverpool FC, where dreams come true. We lifted the European trophy after having no hope whatsoever, so we keep faith in our team in hope of that elusive Premiership title. You’ll Never Walk Alone !!!

Enjoy these videos from that one night in Istanbul.

Portsmouth 2 - 0 Liverpool

Can it get any worse than this? 18 League games played, won 8, drew 3, lost 7. After our midweek win over Wigan, Liverpool were hoping for a second consecutive win, but unfortunately that was not meant to be.

Liverpool started off well but a lack of concentration and sloppy defending was just about enough for Nadir Belhadj to put the home side in front after 33 minutes, smashing home the Premier Leagues 500th goal of this season.

Shortly after that, Liverpool had Javier Mascherano sent off for a tackle on Tal Ben Haim just before half-time. This was the turning point of the game. Having gone down to ten men, the task of not just equalising against Portsmouth, but to win just got a lot more difficult.

A below par performance by the narrow midfield and lack of passing and playmaking only just helped unease the Liverpool players further.

Frederic Piquionne secured the points eight minutes from time, slotting home from a tight angle to give Pompey a chance of moving off the bottom of the table if West Ham lose to Chelsea tomorrow.

Steven Gerrard came close to pulling a goal back in the last few minutes, but it was one of them days, where nothing goes right for you. In fact, it’s just been that kind of season.

Wolves next at Anfield in midweek. Hopefully, they’ll field their reserve team like they did against Manchester United in midweek.

A very disappointing performance. After the game, Rafa Benitez blamed Javier Mascherano’s sending off for the defeat at Fratton Park. Now we lose Mascherano through suspension, as well as his injury he picked up during the tackle which got him sent off.

We really need to pick ourselves up and start performing. If we carry on like this we will be in big trouble. But in Rafa we trust and surely things can not get any worse than they already are ..

Till Wednesday, You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Check out this extended HD trailer of the upcoming sci-fi movie AVATAR by James Cameron.

The film tells the story of an ex-Marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.

Avatar, stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang and Matt Gerald, will be released nationwide on December 17th 2009.

I don’t think I’ll make it to the UK Premiere at Leicester Square on 10th December, but hopefully will get some tickets for the advanced screening at Odeon on the 16th December….3D baby !!!!!
